GrubMarket, a player in the food-tech eCommerce sector, has acquired of FreshGoGo, an online platform specialising in Asian grocery and speciality foods in North America.

This strategic move aims to bolster GrubMarket's presence in the rapidly expanding online grocery delivery market, enhancing its competitive edge in the US food eCommerce landscape.

Founded in 2017 in Plainview, New York, FreshGoGo has established itself as a go-to source for consumers seeking authentic Asian groceries and gourmet prepared meals.

The platform has an extensive selection of nearly 6,000 unique SKUs, including fresh produce, meats, seafood, dry goods and speciality items, catering to the growing demand for Asian grocery products in North America.

FreshGoGo's success is attributed to its robust logistics and cold chain distribution network, which features a 50,000-square-foot central warehouse in New York, satellite dispatch centres in several major cities and a fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles.

This infrastructure supports efficient delivery across 25 states, serving over 200,000 customers and fulfilling millions of orders.

Following the acquisition, FreshGoGo will retain its current leadership team, ensuring continuity in operations and brand identity.

Mike Xu, CEO of GrubMarket, said: “FreshGoGo is a pioneer in the Asian grocery delivery market. We see significant potential in integrating their platform with our existing technology and logistics capabilities, further solidifying our leadership in online grocery delivery.”

Jianbing Duan, owner of FreshGoGo, added: "Joining forces with GrubMarket is a monumental opportunity for FreshGoGo. We share a common vision for bringing the freshest and highest quality food to diverse communities across the country in a one-stop shopping format."

The acquisition will allow FreshGoGo to leverage GrubMarket's suite of proprietary technology solutions, including WholesaleWare, an AI-powered ERP platform designed for the food industry, and GrubAssist, an enterprise AI assistant that enhances supply chain operations.

This acquisition comes at a time when the online grocery market is experiencing significant growth, driven by changing consumer preferences and increased demand for convenient shopping options.
