Italian coffee brand Lavazza has opened its fifth store in Hong Kong and introduced its signature Buffalo Milk Latte across all locations, as it plans to double its footprint in the market over the coming months.

The expansion comes less than a year after Lavazza opened its first Hong Kong store in Central in November 2025. The brand, which operates in the market through its joint venture with Yum China, aims to increase its presence to approximately ten stores in the coming months.

Lavazza's five stores are primarily located in office towers and shopping destinations across Central and Causeway Bay. Its latest opening, at Cheung Kong Center II, features a Carmencita moka pot installation, based on the design created for Lavazza by Italian designer Marco Zanuso in 1979.

Alongside the store expansion, Lavazza has launched its Buffalo Milk Latte in Hong Kong, which the company says makes it the first coffee chain in the market to offer buffalo milk-based drinks.

The beverage, already one of Lavazza's best-selling products in mainland China, recorded sales of more than 1.2 million cups in 2025.

Made with natural buffalo milk and Lavazza espresso, the latte offers a richer dairy flavour and creamier texture than conventional milk-based coffees, with natural sweetness and no added sugar. It is available in both hot and iced formats.

Allegra Armitano, chief marketing officer of the Lavazza-Yum China joint venture, said: "Hong Kong is a mature and dynamic coffee market where consumers place a high value on quality, flavor, and brand experience – all of which are central to Lavazza's identity as an iconic Italian coffee brand founded in Turin in 1895."

"Since opening our first store in Hong Kong, we've been encouraged by the market response. We are excited to introduce our signature Buffalo Milk Latte to Hong Kong and look forward to broadening our offerings for local coffee lovers."

Lavazza is also preparing to introduce two additional beverages to its Hong Kong menu in the coming months.

These include the return of its Bicerin range, inspired by the traditional Turin drink made with layers of espresso, cocoa and cream, and the Hong Kong debut of its Liquid Tiramisu, which recreates the flavours of the Italian dessert in a creamy coffee beverage.

The additions will join the brand's existing range of drinks, including the Sicilian Pistachio Oat Milk Latte, Apple Juice Americano and Orange Juice Americano, alongside traditional espresso-based coffees.

Lavazza said it plans to continue expanding its beverage and food offerings as it grows its store network in Hong Kong.
