Twinings has launched a new line of ready-to-drink sparkling teas, aimed at meeting the increasing consumer interest in functional beverages that combine refreshment with health benefits.

The new range features three flavours: Refresh – Juicy Raspberry Lemonade, Defence – Zesty Orange and Passionfruit, and Boost – Zingy Lemon and Ginger.

Each can of Twinings Sparkling Tea is fortified with vitamins and minerals, including antioxidant vitamin C, and contains no artificial sweeteners, colours or added sugars, with fewer than 50 calories per serving.

Developed by Twinings' Master Blenders and herbalists, the Sparkling Tea line is designed to cater to consumers looking for afternoon refreshment that also supports their wellbeing.

The three flavours each offer unique health benefits

🛡️Defence: Zesty Orange with Passionfruit and Elderberry, infused with Chinese green tea leaves, fortified with zinc and vitamins C and D to support immune health.

💦Refresh: Juicy Raspberry Lemonade with Hibiscus, infused with Chinese white tea leaves, enriched with magnesium, niacin and vitamin C to uplift mood and spirit.

🚀Boost: Zingy Lemon with Ginger and Lemon Balm, infused with Indian black tea leaves, fortified with vitamins B6, B12 and C to provide energy.

Consumer testing indicated a positive reception, with 90% of participants expressing a willingness to recommend the product after sampling, suggesting that it meets or exceeds expectations.

Gill Close, marketing director for UK & Ireland at Twinings, said: “After years of research and development, we are thrilled to finally share Twinings Sparkling Tea. Our ambition is to empower consumers to make small changes that enhance their health and wellbeing.”

The launch of Sparkling Tea follows the introduction of Twinings Coolers last month, indicating the company's strategy to diversify its cold beverage offerings.

The new product will be available through various retailers, including Amazon, Holland & Barrett, and select Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores, with an RRP of £1.89 per can.
