A new entrant to the UK beverage market is looking to challenge conventional coffee formats with the launch of Rovello, a sparkling coffee drink that combines the character of espresso with the refreshment of soda.

Scheduled to launch online in the UK in the first quarter of 2027, Rovello will initially be available in multipacks of 12 x 250ml slim cans. Each can contains 78 calories, 7g of sugar and 127.5mg of caffeine.

The drink is made with natural espresso extract and two natural caramel flavourings, positioning it at the intersection of coffee and carbonated soft drinks.

The launch reflects an approach to coffee that moves beyond traditional hot and iced formats, offering consumers an alternative way to enjoy coffee in a sparkling, ready-to-drink format.

The brand has been developed from the ground up by London-based creative studio Velvet Badger, which was appointed to translate the founders’ product concept into a distinctive consumer proposition.

The studio’s remit included brand strategy, naming, visual identity, packaging, tone of voice and website development.

At the centre of the brand is the idea of discovery and belonging. The name Rovello combines “rove”, meaning to travel, with “hello”, an everyday greeting, while the tagline “Brewed to belong” carries this positioning across its communications.

For Rovello co-founder Thomas Mould, the launch represents the culmination of a long-standing product idea.

Mould said: “The idea for Rovello has been with me for a long time, so seeing it become a product we’re ready to launch is a huge milestone. We wanted to bring something a little unexpected to the drinks aisle, combining the character of coffee with the refreshment of soda.”
